We firmly believe transitioning to the Direct Primary Care model will allow us to provide affordable primary care to our members , and even more communication ! The physician-patient relationship has long been hindered by "insurance bureaucrats " and their decisions as to what they will cover or not. We can fix this, at least when it comes to your Primary Care needs!

Direct primary care, or DPC for short, is a simple idea that solves a very complex problem.
Here's a thought experiment: what if you took all the worst parts about healthcare in America — insurance companies and their mountains of paperwork, greedy corporate hospital systems that don't care about patient satisfaction, and all the shadowy middlemen trying to eliminate price transparency — and you threw them all out the window. That's DPC in a nutshell.
It's clear that the current system doesn't care about providing great care. Have you ever scheduled an appointment months in advance, only to sit in the waiting room for an hour, followed by an unsatifying 10 minute doctor visit? That's par for the course these days.
DPC is different.
As a DPC patient, you forge a relationship with a doctor that knows YOU. No more having to schedule months out; your DPC doctor is at your fingertips. If you need an in-person visit, you can usually book one the very next day or within the week; But MANY issues can be handled or addressed quickly with a simple text, email or virtual visit directly with your doc at your convenience!
Your doctor will stay on top of your health: running preventative tests, diagnosing you when you're sick, prescribing medicines (and often dispensing them to you directly at wholesale prices — no extra trip to the pharmacy!), negotiating low prices on blood tests and scans, quickly addressing any health concerns or questions you have, and—if necessary—coordinating your care with specialists and hospitals. The vast majority of DPC doctors give you their cell phone number so you can text them with any questions!
How is this possible? By cutting insurance out of the picture. Insurance is fundamentally incompatible with providing comprehensive, compassionate care. When a doctor bills your insurance, they are forced to submit an itemized list of each and every medical service they provided. If they don't, they won't get paid. But—surprise, surprise—no insurance company will pay a doctor for answering one of your texts, reminding you to avoid red meat, answering on the first ring when you call, opening the door for you when you arrive at the office, or asking about your family!
In DPC, you pay a flat monthly membership fee, usually around the size of your cell phone bill. You can pay with your credit card—no more clipboards with pages of insurance paperwork.
If it seems like everything is a subscription these days, that’s because it’s the best way for a business to offer a high-quality service and excellent support over a long period of time. What if Netflix nickel-and-dimed you for every episode of Stranger Things you watched? It would be awful, that’s what. DPC is like Netflix: you get access to nearly unlimited care for one low monthly price.

It is certainly a good idea for you to keep some form of insurance for other needs like specialist visits, hospital/urgent care visits, imaging ( may actually be cheaper going through direct care rates in many cases) answer to this item. You can still use your insurance for things like your prescriptions also (however, many prescription meds will be available directly from your doctor's office for wholesale cost!
Think about it like this:
Do you pay for car insurance? do you use it every month? The benefit of Direct Primary Care is access, access, access! Insurance will no longer dictate when and how long or how often you can see your doctor; you can communicate whenever you need to directly with your doctor.
Yes younger, healthier patients tend to see their physician less frequently, but with a JPC membership, your doctor is there when you need them and accessible, and no deductible or copay is EVER involved.
Absolutely not! In fact, Dr Jackson is hoping to take as many of his established patients as want to join him on this transition. It just means instead of going through a "third party", i.e. your insurance, your primary care will be provided under your monthly membership fee, which will include so many free or discounted services. You will be provided HIGH VALUE primary care service with affordable prices ( averages out to under $20.00/week). For your primary care, you will no longer have to focus on "meeting a $5000 deductible" before getting the care you need. Even many of your urgent care needs can be handled through your membership (even if "after hours" services are needed).
no, we have set up an option for automatic monthly payments for your membership fee so no need to worry about a monthly bill for that. The only bill you may receive is for incidental fees incurred (i.e minimal charge for inhouse meds that may be dispensed but those will be for wholesale costs . For example, $5.00 for a particular blood pressure medicine , lab fees (greatly discounted below what insured labs costs e.g. hemoglobin a1c for $3.00 vs almost 100.00 through typical lab/insurance.
Enrollment is very easy. Just click on the secure link on the homepage and you will have a simple form to complete, including options for what day of the month you would like your membership fee to be drafted.
Through your DPC membership with Jackson Primary Care, you will have different options available to you to get the care you need. Of course, if you need an in-person visit we will be happy to see you in the office usually within the week, or even if same day/next day/weekend visits need to be set up to get you seen. However, as a JPC member, you will also have your doctor's cell number, email, text and many issues can be handled with a call/conversation/text to your doctors, without having to come in to the office!
You will also have the option to have a virtual /telemedicine face to face visit with your provider at your convenience and at NO EXTRA COST! It's all included in your membership fee!
